Orakill

i tried to kill the session using the below command.

General syntax of command :

c:\> orakill sid spid

i tried to execute the command as given below.

C:\>orakill 1540 1942

Could not attach to Oracle instance 1540: err = 203

Solution:

SID mentioned in orakill syntax is not the session(process) id. It is the instance name.
c:\> orakill  instance_name thid
C:\>orakill esk 1942

Kill of thread id 1942 in instance esk successfully signalled.
